Binley Mega Chippy caught the attention of millions after a viral TikTok craze about the local chip shop. And now two teenagers have gone further than most by camping out overnight to avoid the lines.
The chippy on Binley Road has seen people travel across the country – and apparently even the world – to visit. But Ethan Stimson and Oscar Rhodes took things to a different level of excitement when they stayed in a tent in the parking lot overnight.
The Worcester teenagers set off on Thursday morning (June 2) and said the two-hour trip was worth it to be the first to camp. Speaking to LADbible about their trip, Ethan, 18, said: “We decided to camp outside as it is now seen in our eyes as a historic part of British history and we wanted to be the first to achieve this goal.

“We also found it to be a great way to save money after our two hour night commute. We arrived just before closing time and left before the crowds gathered for the opening today.
“Although the Chippy was not open during this time of night, we were able to meet hundreds of people who had commuted from all over the country just to take a photo at the Binley Mega Chippy.” While admitting they were happy with their decision, Ethan added that it wasn’t the most comfortable sleep.
“Certainly not comfortable, but manageable. We managed to get comfortable with a blanket, but still slept surrounded by large amounts of trash on the floor.”
The chippy has become one of the biggest trends in the world in recent days. The owners say they’re thrilled by the crowds – and people come from all over the UK to grab a bite.
