The Qatar Haj Mission has approved camp locations for nine Haj campaigns in Mina and Arafat.
Qatar Haj Mission director Ali bin Sultan al-Misifri said the pilgrim camps in Mina are located in one site while the camps in Arafat are spread over two sites: Arafat 1 and Arafat 2.
He revealed that Qatar’s preparation for the pilgrim sites had started some time before the Haj season, through coordination with the Ministry of Haj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia and the Muttawiffy Hujjaj South Asia Company, where several meetings took place. These meetings resulted in the allocation of sites in Arafat, near the main street and the Al Mashaer train, for pilgrims from Qatar.
He added that the Haj Mission allocated the Mina and Arafat camps to the campaigns considering the number of pilgrims in each campaign and the approved space for each pilgrim.
The camps are equipped with security and safety devices, emergency exits have been identified and male and female workers have been assigned to the camps.
Along with all the necessary services, facilities and equipment such as air conditioners, modern toilets, rest and sleeping areas, and other equipment such as mattresses and proper power supply were provided.
Appropriate spaces have also been allocated for the medical clinics of the Qatari mission. There is a clinic for men and another for women, with the aim of providing pilgrims with all the facilities.
Al Misifri pointed out that Qatar’s Haj mission has also planned an evacuation plane in case of emergency. A meeting point and emergency exits have been designated.
The camps were also secured inside the tents and in the corridors under the supervision of trained personnel from the Qatari Civil Defense as well as the Saudi Civil Defense.
Qatar Haj Mission has adopted a new system this year to provide the best services to all pilgrims.
