Nadeshiko visits her school’s outdoor activity circle, which consists of two members; Aoi Inuyama and Chiaki Ohgaki. The girls attempt to pitch a cheap tent only for it to break on top of them. They are aided by Rin’s friend, Ena Saitou, who draws Nadeshiko’s attention to the fact that Rin also attends her school…
Nadeshiko finds out about a camping/outdoor club and is recruited to develop her skills and work on setting up a tent. I thought it was a good idea for the Outdoors Club to have supplies in their room, like wood and pine cones for example.
As usual, the outdoor segments continue to present a side of Japan that is not limited to skyscrapers and cafes. Rin would save a lot of money if she weren’t the antisocial type, campfires are meant to be enjoyed with others. The episode even had some nice comedic moments, it’s mostly physical humor that doesn’t overstay its welcome. Other than that, the landscape shots and sense of exploration continue to impress without feeling overdone.
Overall, it was another passable episode that manages to balance quiet, fun, and educational moments so well. I don’t even like the outdoors that much, partly because of my grass allergy and my technical side. Still, it’s still relaxing to watch with occasional moments of physical comedy here and there, mostly at the expense of two characters, but I couldn’t help but laugh. There’s even a post-credits scene to watch as well.
