READY FOR S’MORE? In its 75th year, the Beaver Creek Local Reserve has no plans of stopping anytime soon. The unique nature reserve has been a place of environmental education for decades, and they want you to come celebrate the milestone year!

With a quarter century officially under its belt this year, the Beaver Creek Preserve is hosting a camping-themed celebration on Saturday, September 10 from 4-8 p.m. And don’t worry, it won’t be too much in the tents – the 75th anniversary celebration will be full of fun for the whole family, even encouraging attendees to wear their best camping gear or vintage Beaver Creek gear.

The camp’s theme is a nod to its origin in 1947, when it was founded as Eau Claire County Youth Camp. They’ll keep the theme going with catering from Karl’s Bar-BQ (also offering a vegetarian option) and adult drinks and sodas for purchase.

The evening will also serve as the annual meeting and volunteer and donor appreciation event where the organization will announce the 2022 award winners, and celebrate Beaver Creek’s overall successes over the years.

From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., people can check in at the Wise Nature Center and the Program Open House where activities like monarch tagging will take place. Then, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., will be the annual meeting, followed by a social hour and evening programming until 8 p.m.

Guests can use Beaver Creek’s on-site accommodations and even stay overnight in one of their cabins for the full camp experience or pitch a tent in their tent area after the event. Live music will also reverberate throughout the evening by local trio group Songa.

Beaver Creek invites people to send photos with captions, stories and more to share cherished memories at the reserve over its past 75 years, either by mail (Beaver Creek Reserve at S1 County Rd. K, Fall Creek, Wi, 54742) or email john@beavercreekreserve.org.

Tickets are available for purchase online now – $20 for adults; $10 for ages 2 to 15; Free for children under 2 – pre-registration ends Friday, September 9, with tickets also available at Beaver Creek during the event.
