Parks Victoria makes it simpler, easier and cheaper to get out into nature for an overnight adventure with Victoria’s Great Outdoors.
Victoria’s Great Outdoors is a $106.6 million investment by the Government of Victoria in better parks, campgrounds, tracks, trails and outdoor facilities. As part of the scheme, Parks Victoria has halved camping fees at all reservable campgrounds in Victoria. Lower fees have certainly made a lot of campers happy. More than 55,000 camping reservations were made last summer, an increase of 15,000 from the summer before the program began.
“Thanks to Victoria’s Great Outdoors, there are more opportunities to stay in nature, with new and improved campgrounds in the planning,” said Kylie Trott, Executive Director – Operations, Parks Victoria. “It’s fantastic to see so many people camping and getting out into nature, exploring amazing parks and reserves across Victoria and boosting local economies.”
Now it’s easier than ever to find the perfect place to stay at one of Victoria’s 131 reservable campgrounds and roofed accommodation options.
This summer, campers have even more reason to get out into nature, thanks to a $1.56 million investment in Parks Victoria’s enhanced campsite reservation system. Campers will find enhanced features, instant confirmation and advanced filtering to help them choose from fully serviced sites with luxury tents to secluded campsites with nothing but the serenity of the bush, plus everything the rest.
This is another win for Victoria’s Great Outdoors, which is also funding the construction of new and improved campgrounds across the state, as well as upgrades to iconic 4×4 routes from the Alps to the Mallee and upgrades to Otways walking trails in central Victoria.
